Want to Volunteer?
SCAN offers a wide range of volunteering activities for students at Newcastle University. We also welcome students from Northumbria University and members of the community, where appropriate. It is a good idea to have a look at the projects first to see if there is something you fancy, and the sooner you do this the better as many activities require training quite early on in the academic year. We can then meet to discuss your particular requirements and preferences. Please feel free to contact us if you need any help or further information.
Volunteering Restrictions
At SCAN we are keen to get international students involved in volunteering. There are lots of activities available to help you enhance your time in Newcastle. However, there are some restrictions that are beyond our control which may prevent you from taking part in certain activities. The main barrier is the need for a CRB check for certain volunteering activities. These are essential for activities which involve regular close contact with children and vulnerable adults. If you would like to know more about volunteering restrictions for international students, please come into the office or contact us to arrange an appointment.
