Books for Amnesty is a book stop that raises funds for Amnesty UK. Run by volunteers, in the form of a committee to which everyone is welcome, and a shops coordinator in the London Headquarters.

All the books sold are donated. There are close links with the Newcastle Amnesty Group who use the same premises.

Books for Amnesty is based on Westgate Road in Newcastle (5 mins walk from central station)

Volunteers Roles:
All volunteers take part in serving customers; filling shelves; pricing books etc.
Volunteers with computer skills and those able to collect books are also required to help.

Skills/experience/training: dealing with customers, using the till, knowledge of books, pricing and displaying.

The rota for the shop is made up weekly and volunteers work when they can for up to a four hour session or more, dropping out for exams; holidays etc. and returning when able.
