► North Tyneside Befriending Scheme

Where: 60 A Bedford Street, North Shields, NE30 NE29 0AL

 (venues for befriending sessions with clients may vary across North Tyneside)

What : Befriending scheme providing a one to one service to people suffering problems associated with severe and enduring mental ill health. We support home visiting and activities aimed at easing isolation and promoting , confidence, self esteem and social skills.

Requirements: A befriender will be required to either make home visits or take part in social activities in the community according to the wishes of the client.

Training: The training programme includes: Teaching in the field of mental health issues, communication skills, equal opportunities,, anti discriminating practice and volunteering boundaries.
