SCAN exists to serve the community by integrating students at Newcastle University within quality volunteering projects. There is a huge potential for reciprocal learning and development through uniting student volunteers and the wider community. Being at University brings about profound changes in personal development and there are so many options to help students make the most of this time. There are equally as many ways to help them fritter away this time! Volunteering is a superb way of learning new skills, having fun, meeting interesting people, learning about where you live and finding out who you are and what you want to be.
Childhealth Advocacy International (Registered Charity No. 1071486)
We offer practical support and guidance to families, professionals and anyone concerned about a grieving child. We believe that the right support at the right time can enable bereaved young people to live with their grief and rebuild positive futures.
Their two respite houses in Surrey and Northumberland provide a break for the whole family, allowing them to spend precious time together as a family.
Rainbow Trust's Family Support Workers join the family in their own home and are there to provide whatever practical support is needed. Rainbow Trust supports families for as long as they need them - from diagnosis, through the illness and beyond.

Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading care and research charity for people with
dementia and those who care for them.
There are 700,000 people with dementia in the UK with numbers set to rise to one million by 2025.
Alzheimer's Society is a membership organisation, which works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Many of our 25,000 members have personal experience of dementia, as carers, health professionals or people with dementia themselves, and their experiences help to inform our work.
Rainbow Trust Children's Charity provides practical and emotional support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. They support 1,000 families each year.
