Hello I'm Ben, the Education Officer here at Newcastle. As Education Officer my role is to help you with any problems you may be having with your course when studying here at Newcastle. So if you have any questions about things that may be happening on your course from problems with time management, trouble with marking, or want some help with an academic appeal, just drop in or get in touch.

I also represent you as Newcastle students to both the university as well as to a wider audience nationally. Part of this involves working closely with the university, sitting on various bodies and committees. This is my opportunity to tell the university the student's opinions on their courses and their wider student experience, so if you have any comments at all please send me an email, call or come and visit me!

I also help students represent themselves both on Staff-Student committees and through faculty forums. It's a great chance to get your voice heard and change things on your course while improving that ever important CV. If you don't know who your representative is, or your school doesn't have one, why not put yourself forward? Contact me about this and I'll tell you how to get started. Being a course rep can even lead on to bigger and better things, like representing your school at Union Council!

Council is where topics from Newcastle and around the world, are discussed and where students decide how the Union is run. Its also the main forum for saying how we represent the Newcastle student voice to NUS (National Union of Students) and how much we get involved in campaigns both here and far, far away (well London usually!) So if you just want to know more about what's going on or want to get started on a glorious political career, come and get involved!

I live on the 1st floor of the Union building on the student services corridor so feel free to drop in whenever you are around or alternatively contact me via any of the many methods below and hopefully I'll see you soon!
