As Activities Officer I look after societies, RAG and various Union events such as the Graduation Ball and the International Grand Festival.
There are over 120 societies here at Newcastle which range from Circus Skills to Economics. It is my job to support anyone running a society, to provide them with training and to advice throughout the year as well as answering queries from society members.
If you want to set up your own society then I can help you do this. Any student is encouraged to form a new society - all you need is commitment and a great idea!
Another important part of my job is to represent student activities in all decision making bodies, such as Union Council and Executive Committee, as well as to the University. This means that your student activities are always given a voice!
University is about so much more than getting a degree, if there is any student activity that you want to get involved with then I am always happy to help. Feel free to grab me at anytime or simply pop in for a chat!
