We will be transforming the Union building and it's surroundings into a massive Festival site with indoor and outdoor entertainments, music, activities, food and drink.
Navigate your way round this unique setting with your very own Freshtival map!
Amongst a host of activities, entertainments and acts the following have been confirmed:
Fresh from a double-page spread in NME and a live session on Zane Lowe's Radio One show, Bombay Bicycle Club have recently played Reading and Leeds festivals and as well as supporting Editors on their forthcoming tour, they will be headlining their own tour after playing Freshtival.
The Hedfone Party will be a particular highlight of the night for those who have never experienced it before.
Based in the Igloo Stage, this will be the ultimate silent dance experience, where everyone wears wireless headphones and dances to music delivered straight to their ears.
Seen at all the major festivals, Freshtival wouldn't be complete without it!
In a world where every party, rave, club & festival has a DJ, its not unusual to think, ‘..is this as good as it gets? what is the future??’ DVJs!! The worlds of Music and Video incorporated together. And The Urban Knights, the DVJ’s Benny Kane & KVL, are just the people to bring these worlds straight to you.
Headlining the Igloo Stage, Urban Knights will be renewing their association with Newcastle University Freshers' Week, after their storming set at Pandamonium last year.
This local North-East band are hot property right now, and will be opening our festival in style. Their latest single - 'Have You Ever Felt So Messed Up' - is well worth checking out on their myspace page. They've had radio airplay recently and will be touring the country in the weeks following, so make sure you catch them on our main stage.

The Igloo dome is a 360 degree, immersive environment which will be one of the centrepieces of the whole event. Having made appearances at Glastonbury over the last few years this will be a unique experience - an assault on both your eyes and ears.
We're lining up some great DJs to complement the VJs who will be wowing you with their visuals.
Etrois will be putting on a range of acts over the course of the evening in Stage 3 (@ Northern Stage) - which will be transformed into a cool cabaret club for the occasion.
Featuring burlesque, dancing and even audience participation (with prizes to be won), this is guaranteed to be an entertaining element to the night, with a DJ booked to round things off.
Club De Fromage is North London's premier night spot, but they'll be transporting their set to the North East for a one-off special show. Father and son team Fat Tony and Slow Alfie will be bringing back the glamour days of dancing round your handbag, home perms and polyester shirts.
Club De Fromage is a beacon for the people that time forgot, and their unique brand of music, coupled with air guitar compeitions and a meat pie giveaway are guaranteed to make the club one of the best places on site!
