Newcastle is proud to boast it's very own Metro service, handy for getting into uni or town when not living on campus in 2nd/3rd year as well as for trips to the Beach, Sunderland or as an easy way to get to the Airport.
For those living away from campus in later years a metro pass might be worth thinking about! For the occasional user check out the hopper ticket, which allows unlimited all day travel in zone A.

There is also an excellent bus service in Newcastle for trips in and around the city.
Similarly to the Metro, those living further off campus may want to consider a bus pass, whilst residents of Heaton will learn to the love the No.1 bus which takes you into town for little more than a pound!
Transport links out of the city in Newcastle are very good. As well as Megabus and National Express offering cheap coach travel, Newcastle station has brilliant rail links to all around the country.
The station itself has it's own Metro stop as well as being home to a number of services such as WHSMiths, Burger King, Costa Coffee as well as a bar, what more could you want!

Newcastle Airport is situated a short Metro trip away and is perfect for those of you living far away who might want to travel to and from uni in a quicker way or for those who fancy a cheeky weekend break to a large number of European cities.
