We want you to get the most out of being at University and that means getting you the right advice when you need it. Our Student Advice Centre and Student Support Officer is on hand to provide you with information on a number of issues should you need help – we can provide information to help out your finances, sort out your housing issues and even just be there to talk to when you’re feeling home sick. We also run a number of services to help you out such as the Nightbus which operates from a number of pickup points in the evening and delivers you directly to your door – all for just 70p (free during term 1 with an NUS Extra card!) We’d like to see you find a taxi service that can beat our price.
The Union is also on hand to aid you with bigger issues faced by the student body. We run a number of campaigns throughout the year aimed at getting your voice heard on a national level. This past year’s campaigns have included ‘Broke & Broken’ campaigning against the proposed lifting of the cap on top-up fees and ‘Hope not Hate’, an anti-fascist day campaigning to get students to use their votes in the European elections. If you’ve got an idea for a campaign or would like to get involved speak to the Student Support Officer.
